Membership Information

MEMBERSHIP

The French International Culinary Society is an exclusive membership association. The board of directors approves applications submitted by new members. Their deliberations and votes are secret and strictly confidential. To apply for a membership, please fill out the "Become a Member" form provided below.

The FICS has three categories of membership:

General members: All persons interested in the practice of the French culinary arts, traditions and techniques.
Professional member: All persons who can demonstrate their professionally-acquired knowledge of the French culinary arts through education and/or professional experience.
Retired member: Active members who have paid their dues in full are exempt from further payment of the annual dues on their 65th birthday.

FEES AND BENEFITS

The FICS’ annual membership fee is $50. The annual dues are payable each January, and the annual fee has not changed since 1972.

Active members are entitled to vote and participate to the society’s general assemblies. In addition, they are eligible to be candidates for a position on the board of directors. Other benefits are cash discounts at the association’s public events, invitations to participate at members-only events and the possibility to participate in the association scholarship program for education and professional development.

More importantly, active participation in the association is a great way to meet and stay in touch with individuals and professionals of the restaurant/hotel industry that share common interests and concerns.

Your application will be reviewed by the Board of Directors at their next scheduled meeting. You will be informed of the Board's decision by mail. Do not send any money now, if your application is accepted you will receive an invoice for the application fee ($25) and the annual dues ($50). We thank you for sending your application.
